Reliance is providing Independent Cost Estimating (ICE), Schedule Reviews, and Constructability Reviews to the MassDOT Highway Division as part of a Master Services Agreement Contract for Project Controls Analysis on a Task Order basis for projects in Districts 3 and 5. To date, we have provided an Independent Cost Estimate Review (ICE) for the upcoming $300 million Hopkinton & Westborough I-495 & I-90 Interchange Improvements. The I-495/I-90 interchange serves commuter traffic and is also used by nearly half of the freight traffic entering Eastern Massachusetts. The interchange is a high crash location seeing an accident every four days. The current interchange abuts on all sides the Cedar Swamp Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) and is adjacent to an active rail line providing services for the MBTA and CSX. The project aims to improve the safety and address traffic conditions at the interchange that involves several new bridges and new ramps.
